Dropbox Confirms Security Breach

Dropbox has confirmed that recent reports about spam from its users were a result of a security breach.

?Our investigation found that usernames and passwords recently stolen from other websites were used to sign in to a small number of Dropbox accounts. We?ve contacted these users and have helped them protect their accounts,? said Dropbox.

The company promised to improve security for its users, outlining new measures in a blog post.

Facebook Gets a Surge of Mobile Users

Some 102 million users accessed Facebook solely from mobile devices in June, a 23 percent increase since March. The number, which surfaced in a 10-Q document filed with the SEC Tuesday, means Facebook has an advertising opportunity in mobile, but it has to be careful not to ruin the user experience for these users.

Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter Now Available

Apple has made available its Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter, promised at the launch of the Retina MacBook Pro, which doesn?t have a Firewire port. The adapter is available for $29 in Apple Store.
