dividing integers

As we know that in mathematics we have different types of numbers in number system like some are positive numbers, some are negative numbers, counting numbers, whole number, natural number etc.

First of all we are going to define the types of numbers,

1. Counting numbers: ? In number system if number starts from 0 and ends on ? are called counting numbers.

Example: ? 1, 2, 3, 4??.?.

2. Whole number: ? The meaning of whole number is that the simple numbers which starts from 0 and so on is called whole number and these are always

Example: ? 0, 1, 2, 3 ??.?.

3. Natural numbers: ? The numbers which are counting numbers as well as whole numbers are natural numbers but it?s depending on subject.

4.Integers: ? ?Meaning of integers are the numbers which are negative as well as positive are called integers or we can say it is same as whole numbers but also in opposite direction.

Example: ? ??-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3?..

Now we are going to give the example or all numbers which is given below in table;

Numbers Names
1, 2, 3, 4??.? Counting numbers
0, 1, 2, 3, 4?? Whole numbers
?.-2, -1, 0, 1, 2?.. Integer numbers
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5?. Non negative integers
?.-5, -4, -3, -2, -1 Negative integer
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5?. Positive integer

?

So from the above table we can conclude that integers set of whole numbers and there opposite numbers and numbers may be positive or negative but numbers should not be in fraction form are called integers.

Now the integers have negative sign or positive sign bout the 0 is only integer in mathematics which has no sign. In maths we have integers and suppose that we have integer 5 now if we find out the opposite of this integer we just change the sign and is called opposite integer.

Let?s understand how we are?dividing integers;

Now while dividing there are some rules that we have to follow and the rules are given below in table;

Various situations Results
Positive ? Positive Positive
Positive ? Negative Negative
Negative ? Positive Negative
Negative ? Negative Positive

?

Now we are taking integers in which both of them numerator and denominator are positive and when both are positive then result is also positive. So the numerator is +35 and denominator is +7 then result is +5.

Now again we take another example in which numerator is positive integer that is +80 and denominator is negative integer that is -20. So the result should be negative and that is -4.

If we are dividing integers in which numerator is negative that is -75 and denominator is positive that is +15 then the result should be negative and the result is -5.

And when both numerator and denominator are negative then the result is positive, so numerator is -12 and denominator is -3 then results after division is 4.

These are the rules for dividing integers and process of division is same but we have to follow the rules because sign is also very important in mathematics.
