Annual McGMO golf event to benefit Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center

DELAVAN, WI. ? The 15th Annual McGMO Golfing for Cancer Care is scheduled for Friday, July 27, at Delbrook Golf Course, 700 S. 2nd St., Delavan. Proceeds from the event will support the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

The McGMO golf outing was established in 1998 in loving memory of Dean McGregor, Ivan Grover, Calvin Monroe, who have lost their battle with cancer and Kim O?Keefe, a courageous cancer survivor. The event raises funds to benefit cancer patients throughout Walworth County and surrounding communities by enhancing patient services, acquiring equipment and investing in new technology at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

?Since its inception, community support of the McGMO event has raised more than $500,000 for local cancer services. Without this funding, someone from the area battling cancer would have to travel far from their home to receive treatment,? said Mike Grover, one of the founding members of the McGMO. ?The Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Lakeland enables patients to be close to home, close to family, and close to their support system at a crucial time in their lives.?

?So many of us are impacted by cancer. The dedicated McGMO founders, Tim McGregor, Mike Grover, John Monroe and Kim O?Keefe are taking their experiences with cancer to positively impact so many in our community. Proceeds from the McGMO will not only help those undergoing cancer treatments now but many others who will face the cancer diagnosis in the future,? said Michelle Weber, foundation development officer at Aurora Health Care Foundation.

The $100 a person registration fee for this year?s event includes lunch, 18 hole golf scramble, awards reception, dinner and, silent and live auctions. For more information or to register online, please log onto the McGMO website.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at a variety of levels, ranging from $100 to $3,000. Program book ads are also available starting at $25.
